The game was tied 3-3 at the end of regulation, with Evan Bouchard scoring the game-tying goal with just 1:54 remaining in the third period. In the second overtime period, Connor McDavid netted the game-winning goal just 32 seconds into the frame, giving the Oilers the early advantage in the series.

McDavid had a huge night for the Oilers, scoring the game-winning goal and adding an assist. Bouchard also had a strong performance, scoring two goals in the game. Leon Draisaitl and Zach Hyman each had a goal and an assist for Edmonton.
