Bronny James Enters NBA Draft After Stellar Season at Southern Cal
LOS ANGELES AP
Bronny James, the eldest son of superstar LeBron James, has declared for the NBA draft after one season at Southern California that was shortened by his recovery from knee surgery.
Not a Surprise
James' decision to enter the NBA draft was not a surprise, as he had been projected to be a first-round pick. However, his stellar season at Southern Cal only solidified his status as one of the top prospects in the country.
James averaged 14.2 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.4 assists in 16 games for the Trojans this season. He also shot 47.3% from the field and 38.1% from three-point range.
Drafted by the Lakers
James was selected by the Los Angeles Lakers with the 55th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. The Lakers are hoping that James can eventually develop into a star player and help them contend for a championship.
Making History
James' selection by the Lakers is a historic moment, as it marks the first time that a father and son have both been drafted by the same NBA team.
LeBron James was selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2003 NBA Draft.
