Katie Boulter and Alex de Minaur Team Up at Wimbledon

British number one and Australian boyfriend make winning debut in mixed doubles

Wimbledon, July 2023

British number one Katie Boulter and her Australian boyfriend Alex de Minaur teamed up at Wimbledon to win their first match together in the mixed doubles. The pair defeated American duo Catherine McNally and Jackson Withrow 6-3, 6-4 on Court 12, in front of a packed crowd.

It was the first time Boulter and de Minaur had played together in a competitive match, and they looked comfortable from the start. Boulter was particularly impressive at the net, while de Minaur was solid from the baseline.

The victory was a welcome boost for Boulter, who has struggled for form in recent months. She has been plagued by injuries and has not won a match on the WTA Tour since March. De Minaur, on the other hand, has been in excellent form this year, winning two titles and reaching the semi-finals of the Australian Open.

Boulter and de Minaur will now face the French pair of Edouard Roger-Vasselin and Caroline Garcia in the second round. Garcia is a former world number one in doubles and the pair will be a tough test for Boulter and de Minaur.

But if they can play as well as they did in their first match together, they will have a good chance of causing an upset.
