Caleb Williams Wins the Heisman Trophy

Trojan Quarterback Dominates Voting

Despite not making it to the College Football Playoff, Caleb Williams has won the 2023 Heisman Trophy. The USC quarterback was the only finalist not to advance to the College Football Playoff but still managed to win the award by a landslide. Williams finished his sophomore season with 4,075 passing yards, 37 passing touchdowns, and 10 rushing touchdowns. He led the Trojans to an 11-2 record and a berth in the Pac-12 Championship Game. Williams is the first USC player to win the Heisman Trophy since Reggie Bush in 2005.

Williams was not the favorite to win the Heisman Trophy at the beginning of the season. Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud and Alabama quarterback Bryce Young were both considered to be the frontrunners for the award. However, Williams had a breakout season and quickly became one of the most exciting players in college football. He led the Trojans to a number of big wins, including a victory over then-No. 5 Notre Dame. Williams also set a number of USC records, including the single-season passing touchdowns record.

Williams' Heisman Trophy win is a testament to his incredible talent and leadership. He is a dynamic playmaker who can make plays with his arm and his legs. He is also a natural leader who has the respect of his teammates and coaches. Williams is a special player who has the potential to be one of the best quarterbacks in college football history.
